COVID-19 Return to Stage 3 Restrictions in Regional Victoria

As announced by the Victorian Government from 11:59pm on Wednesday 5th August, regional Victoria returned to Stage 3 "Stay at Home" restrictions due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases being recorded across the state. • Indoor sport and recreation – Closed

  • Outdoor sport – Only allowed to exercise, or activities such as fishing, golf, boating, tennis, surfing with one other person or household members, provided 1.5 metre distance can be maintained

Applying a Gender Lens on Women and Girls Return to Sport

Throughout the current COVID-19 crisis inclusive community sport has been heavily discussed and questioned within the sporting community. We all want to see the return to sport be a ‘new normal’ model of sport, where opportunities to participate in sport and active recreation are much more accessible and inclusive for all. This document includes practical examples you can use to actively be more welcoming and inclusive. It also includes a small section of information to help better understand gender and the gender lens, as well as a great list of resources to help you explore this topic further. To read the Applying a Gender Lens on Women and Girls Return to Sport document, click here. How you can use this resource:

  • Share it at your next committee meeting

  • Send it to your teammates and members and chat about any ideas you would like to implement

  • Create an action plan using some of the examples

  • Use the examples as a checklist to see what is already working well at your club or organisation

  • When safe to do so, print the sheets and display or distribute at your venue or facility
