Providing ongoing education and training opportunities, positive recognition and other forms of support for volunteers, has been shown to dramatically improve volunteer recruitment and retention rates. Community sport is more than just a gameSport and recreation builds stronger, healthier, happier and safer communitiesCommunities that participate in sport and recreation develop strong social bonds, are safer places and the people who live in them are generally healthier and happier than places where physical activity isn’t a priority.It is shown if your child is physically active they perform better at school. Physical activity enhances cognitive function improving memory, behaviour, concentration and academic achievement.
Increasing participationDifferent groups of people within the sport and recreation community have different requirements. Identifying these groups and fostering inclusion allows focused development in specific population areas has been shown to increase participation. Reimagining Health Grants
In the midst of the global coronavirus pandemic, protecting our health and wellbeing is more important than ever. The Reimagining Health Grants are replacing VicHealth Active Club Grants for this year – If your club was planning on applying for Active Club Grants you will need to apply for this grant instead.
Any clubs or organisations who have been affected by COVID are being invited to apply for grants of up to $3K, $10K or $50K to support the physical and mental health of Victorians. Clubs who were successful in the last round of active club grants are eligible to apply for this grant.Applications close 11:59pm 27 October, for more information, visit: https://www.vichealth.vic.gov.au/funding/reimagining-health-grantsThe Governance, Skills and Capacity Building Grants (Murrindindi Shire Council)This Grants program supports not-for-profit community groups and organisations, and Committees of Management to meet governance requirements, develop new skills and build capacity. This includes activities that improve the ability to operate effectively, undertake future planning and support sustainability.Applications close at 4pm, on the last Wednesday of every month. Scholarship Program for young people aged 15-24 and recently exited ADF personnel
The aim of the program is to support young Australians or ex ADF to gain critical employability skills, which are embedded in Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications, enabling them to enter and stay in the workforce.
Sport and Recreation occupations available.If eligible you can receive up to $13,000 towards your vocational training.
