Tackle Your Feelings Workshops

Valley Sport is excited to announce that we will be partnering with Tackle Your Feelings again in 2022. Tackle Your Feelings is a free mental health training program available to local football netball clubs. The Tackle Your Feelings workshop was delivered at the following local football netball clubs in 2021.

  • Longwood Football Netball Club

  • Mooroopna Football Netball Club

  • Waaia Football Netball Club

  • Yarrawonga Football Netball Club

Strategic Planning Workshop

Last Wednesday night Valley Sport hosted an online strategic planning workshop for clubs.

Club representatives from across the region attended the session to learn the importance of having a strategic plan and how it can help their club, as well as the basis of developing their own strategic plan.

 New Child Safe Standards Commencing July 1 2022  

New Child Safe Standards are commencing in Victoria from July 1. All sporting organisations that provide and operate services to children are legally required to comply with these standards.

 

The 11 standards are:

  1. Organisations establish a culturally safe environment in which the diverse and unique identities  and experiences of Aboriginal children and young people are respected and valued.

  2. Child safety and wellbeing is embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture.

  3. Children and young people are empowered about their rights, participate in decisions affecting them and are taken seriously.............

Valley Sport alongside Shepparton Soccer Club are excited to bring the Football Victoria GO Soccer Mums Program to Shepparton.

GO Soccer Mums is an introductory football program designed specifically for women, where participants can have fun, meet new people, and learn basic football skills in a social, judgement-free environment.

It's not just for mums - but for all women, from all walks of life! It doesn't matter if you have never kicked a football before -  absolutely no experience is necessary - anybody can take part!

Get Active Kids Voucher Program

Become a Get Active Kids Vouchers Activity Provider Today!You can register NOW to become a Get Active Kids Activity Provider and help kids get involved in sport and active recreation.By registering with the Program, you will be able to accept vouchers of up to $200 to support families facing financial barriers to pay for sporting memberships and participation costs.The Program is a great way to attract more participants and to support existing members facing financial barriers to participation.To be eligible under the Program you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an incorporated entity registered with the appropriate regulator.

  • Possess an active Australian Business Number (ABN).

  • Be affiliated to a Sport and Recreation Victoria recognised Victorian State Sporting Association (SSA) or Victorian State Sport and Active Recreation Body (SSARB).

Future Healthy

Community Shade Grants ProgramThe Victorian State Government has opened round 7 of the Community Shade Grant to help clubs and community organisations to provide adequate shade at community facilities.Up to $50,000 in funding is available for shade development. Applicants may also request up $700 for sun protection items only.Closes: 10 June 2022.

Significant Sporting Events Program The Significant sporting events program helps sporting, community and event organisations to deliver significant sporting events in Victoria. The Program has three types of grants available:Event Assistance Grants (up to $20,000)Event Development Grants (up to $150,000*)Strategic Event Planning Grants (up to $20,000)

Community Motorsport ProgramThe Community Motorsport Program is the Victorian Government’s first dedicated motorsport investment program that provides grant opportunities through two funding categories:

  • The Motorsport Club Assistance Category

  • The Infrastructure Upgrades and Equipment Category

Applicants may submit applications to multiple streams but can only receive a maximum combined grant amount of $20,000.

Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant ProgramThe Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant Program helps Victorian sport and active recreation community organisations replace Essential Sports Equipment that has been lost or destroyed as a consequence of unpreventable and exceptional events such as fire, flood, significant storms, theft or criminal damage. 

Grants of up to $2,000 (excluding GST) are available towards the replacement cost of the lost or damaged equipment that is owned by the applicant organisation.  

The Toyota Good for Footy Raffle is fundraising made easy! Toyota provides all the prizes for the raffle and grassroots clubs get 100% of the proceeds and there is no sign up or registration fees. 

  • $5 per ticket

  • Free to register

  • Club keeps 100% of the proceeds

  • 34 prizes to be won including (Cars, Coaching clinics, Vouchers

Governance, Skills and Capacity Building Grants

This Grants program supports not-for-profit community groups and organisations, and Committees of Management within the Murrindindi Shire to meet governance requirements, develop new skills and build capacity. This includes activities that improve the ability to operate effectively, undertake future planning and support sustainability. Up to $2,000 is available.Closes: 4pm, on the last Wednesday of every month. Quick Response GrantsThe overall purpose of the grants program is to provide a funding scheme that strengthens the involvement of community organisations in the development of services, management of facilities, events, arts and culture, tourism, promotion of health, supply of equipment, promotion of environmental sustainability and infrastructure in the community. Quick Response Grants of up to $1,000 are open all year round.
