On The Front Foot
Thursday August 11th saw Valley Sport deliver our first On The Front Foot workshop alongside Rachael Willis from Pure Empowerment Psychology. A great turnout from the Shepparton Soccer Club with 17 junior and senior members participating in the workshop. On the Front Foot is designed to educate members of local community sports clubs on how they can identify and support not only themselves but other club members that may be dealing with ill mental health. Grant Writing Workshop
Monday July 4th saw Valley Sport host an online grant writing workshop for sporting clubs.
The aim of the workshop was for participants to develop a better understanding of the grant writing process and how they can write successful grants.

Strategic Planning Workshop
Earlier this year Valley Sport hosted an online strategic planning workshop for clubs.
Club representatives from across the region attended the session to learn the importance of having a strategic plan and how it can help their club, as well as the basis of developing their own strategic plan.

New Victorian Child Safe Standards
New Child Safe Standards have commenced in Victoria as of July 1. All sporting organisations that provide and operate services to children are legally required to comply with these standards.
The 11 standards are:
Organisations establish a culturally safe environment in which the diverse and unique identities and experiences of Aboriginal children and young people are respected and valued.
Child safety and wellbeing is embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture.
Children and young people are empowered about their rights, participate in decisions affecting them and are taken seriously.............

Youth Fest 2022 will be happening in Shepparton on Thursday September 15th from 11:30am - 2:30pm at Shepparton's GO Tafe. A range of activities will be taking place throughout the day including:
Painting
Drumming
Stalls
Basketball
Food
Chill out space
Music
Come on down and enjoy this free community event.

Valley Sport alongside AFL Goulburn Murray and Netball Victoria are excited to announce that after a few years of cancelations the Mooroopna All Abilities Football and Netball Carnival will be taking place next Wednesday September 7th.
Date: Wednesday 7th September 2022
Time: 10am - 2pm
Location: Mooroopna Recreation Reserve

JumpStart Round 2 Open Now!Jumpstart! is the second major investment in VicHealth’s Future Healthy initiative. Together, JumpStart! will create hundreds more community-led initiatives for Victoria’s children and young people (aged 0-25, including families)
There are 2 tiers of funding available:
Tier 1: $3,000-$10,000 – for tools/resources to strengthen an existing initiative e.g., training, stock, equipment (please note this does not include projects delivering services to children 0-17 years – head to our FAQ to learn more).
Tier 2: $10,001-$50,000 – for new projects, or to strengthen an existing project delivering on one or more of the JumpStart! challenges (including services to children 0-17 years – head to JumpStarts FAQ to learn more).

Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant ProgramThe Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant Program helps Victorian sport and active recreation community organisations replace Essential Sports Equipment that has been lost or destroyed as a consequence of unpreventable and exceptional events such as fire, flood, significant storms, theft or criminal damage.
Grants of up to $2,000 (excluding GST) are available towards the replacement cost of the lost or damaged equipment that is owned by the applicant organisation.

The overall purpose of the grants program is to provide a funding scheme that strengthens the involvement of community organisations in the development of services, management of facilities, events, arts and culture, tourism, promotion of health, supply of equipment, promotion of environmental sustainability and infrastructure in the community. Quick Response Grants of up to $1,000 are open all year round. The Nagambie Community Investment program will support programs and projects in the Nagambie area.
This Community Grants Program is administered by Community Enterprise Foundation and made possible by the generous support of the Nagambie branch of Bendigo Bank.

Support projects that make a positive contribution to Nagambie
