Tackle Your Feelings Workshops
Valley Sport is excited to announce that we will be partnering with Tackle Your Feelings again in 2022. Tackle Your Feelings is a free mental health training program available to local football netball clubs. The Tackle Your Feelings workshop was delivered at the following local football netball clubs in 2021.

Online Safety for Child Safe Sport
New Child Safe Standards to strengthen child safety will commence in Victoria on 1 July 2022. Within the 11 new Standards there are four key areas of difference.
To involve families and communities in organisations’ efforts to keep children and young people safe
For a greater focus on safety for Aboriginal children and young people
To manage the risk of child abuse in online environments
In relation to governance, systems and processes to keep children and young people safe
This one-hour webinar on March 24 will focus on a number of key considerations for sport organisations when managing the privacy of information and safety of online environments. Take away learnings will include:
Current trends in social media use, particularly in sporting environments
The importance of having a social media policy and how these policies relate to existing codes of behaviour, member protection and club/organisation policies.
Safeguarding all members of your organisation and key online safety messages to share with their sporting community.
Understanding and adhering to the Australian Privacy Principles
Importance of social media policies and how these policies relate to existing codes of behaviour, member protection and other policies

Get Active Kids Voucher Program
Become a Get Active Kids Vouchers Activity Provider Today!You can register NOW to become a Get Active Kids Activity Provider and help kids get involved in sport and active recreation.By registering with the Program, you will be able to accept vouchers of up to $200 to support families facing financial barriers to pay for sporting memberships and participation costs.The Program is a great way to attract more participants and to support existing members facing financial barriers to participation.To be eligible under the Program you must meet the following criteria:
Be an incorporated entity registered with the appropriate regulator.
Possess an active Australian Business Number (ABN).
Be affiliated to a Sport and Recreation Victoria recognised Victorian State Sporting Association (SSA) or Victorian State Sport and Active Recreation Body (SSARB).

2021 Victorian Sport Awards
The Victorian Sport Awards (VSAs) is the night of nights for the Victorian sporting community, an event that recognises and celebrates the achievements of our home-grown sporting heroes and legends.
Each year, the Victorian Sport Awards honours those who have made an exceptional contribution to sport in Victoria as an individual or team athletes, coaches, administrators, and volunteers from both metropolitan and regional areas in Victoria.
20 awards will be presented, 19 of which can be nominated by the Victorian sporting community in addition to the most prestigious award of the night - the Victorian State Government Outstanding Contribution to Victorian Sport Award.Eligibility criteria regarding the 2021 Victorian Sport Awards can be found here.Nominations for the 2021 Victorian Sport Awards close on 16 March 2022 before the finalists are announced in April.

Insights From Supporting Regional Clubs Research Interim Report
Throughout the months of August, September and early October 2021, the Valley Sport team worked in partnership with Regional Sport Victoria and seven other Regional Sports Assemblies to undertake surveys with local sporting clubs, leagues and associations to understand the issues facing community sport and recreation. The findings of these surveys highlight the current mood of grassroots, community-based sport and recreation as they face the task of operating in a “COVID-normal” society. From 400 surveys the following was uncovered:
37% of respondents stated COVID-19 uncertainty is their major concern
14% are most concerned about membership retention
12% were concerned with a lack of volunteers
17% had serious concerns for the mental health of their members

Significant Sporting Events Program The Significant sporting events program helps sporting, community and event organisations to deliver significant sporting events in Victoria. The Program has three types of grants available:Event Assistance Grants (up to $20,000)Event Development Grants (up to $150,000*)Strategic Event Planning Grants (up to $20,000)

Community Motorsport ProgramThe Community Motorsport Program is the Victorian Government’s first dedicated motorsport investment program that provides grant opportunities through two funding categories:
The Motorsport Club Assistance Category
The Infrastructure Upgrades and Equipment Category
Applicants may submit applications to multiple streams but can only receive a maximum combined grant amount of $20,000.

Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant ProgramThe Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant Program helps Victorian sport and active recreation community organisations replace Essential Sports Equipment that has been lost or destroyed as a consequence of unpreventable and exceptional events such as fire, flood, significant storms, theft or criminal damage.
Grants of up to $2,000 (excluding GST) are available towards the replacement cost of the lost or damaged equipment that is owned by the applicant organisation.

Community Cricket Grant Program
The $13.5 million Community Cricket Program is a state-wide competitive Victorian Government investment program that provides a range of grant opportunities across two funding streams.
The following projects may be funded under the Community Cricket Facilities stream. (see guidelines for more projects)
cricket training nets/facilities that are publicly accessible and may be multi-sport.
pavilion/clubroom developments with female friendly changerooms.
irrigation and drainage upgrades that improve capacity, inclusion or safety.
facilities on school land with confirmed community use.
new cricket pitches and/or cricket grounds (other than in exceptional circumstances outlined in Section 5).
ground upgrades that increase capacity or safety.
sports lighting that enables new programming, improves capacity, inclusion or safety. Requests for replacement of lighting with LED lights are not eligible unless part of a new lighting installation.

WDEA Works Foundation Community Grants
The WDEA Works Foundation grants are awarded to organisations that provide opportunities, reduce barriers, offer support, promote inclusiveness and ensure accessibility to people living with a disability or experiencing disadvantage.
Grants of up to $5000 are available. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Small to medium not-for-profit organisation (under$1,000,000 annual turnover)
The community grant requested must be $5,000 or less
The grant project must be located within a WDEA Works Geographical area
The activity or project benefits people within the community experiencing disability or disadvantage.
Your organisation can supply an ABN or ACN?
Your organisation must not have received a WDEA Works Foundation community grant within the past two years
Be able to provide proof of incorporation
Does the grant applicant have a COVID-19 contingency plan?
If successful, does the applicant have the resources to implement the grant within 2 months? (with the exception of unforeseen covid-19 restrictions)

Governance, Skills and Capacity Building Grants
This Grants program supports not-for-profit community groups and organisations, and Committees of Management within the Murrindindi Shire to meet governance requirements, develop new skills and build capacity. This includes activities that improve the ability to operate effectively, undertake future planning and support sustainability. Up to $2,000 is available.Closes: 4pm, on the last Wednesday of every month. Quick Response GrantsThe overall purpose of the grants program is to provide a funding scheme that strengthens the involvement of community organisations in the development of services, management of facilities, events, arts and culture, tourism, promotion of health, supply of equipment, promotion of environmental sustainability and infrastructure in the community. Quick Response Grants of up to $1,000 are open all year round.
