Changes to Model Rules for Incorporated Associations
Changes
to the model rules for incorporated associations have recently come into effect in Victoria (November 18, 2023)
The changes cover financial reporting thresholds, changes to fee structures, conflict of interest and grievance procedures, virtual meeting attendance rules, clarification of committee member roles and guidance on delegation of authority within a committee or board's membership.
Registered incorporated associations using model rules are now automatically governed by new model rules from 18 November 2023.
How is your organisation affected by these changes? The below webinar will provide a broad overview of the changes, suggest a plan of action to ensure compliance, and direct participants to useful resources. Participants will have the opportunity to ask ICDA’s expert trainer their own questions about the changes.
The free webinar will take place on Thursday February 1st. Free registration here.
Liquor Licence Signage Compliance Check for Clubs
As the winter sport season rapidly approaches, Have you updated your current liquor licence signage?
Liquor Control Victoria have made mandatory changes to required signage for licenced premises. (as of July 2023)
Licensees are required by law to display signage (posters/notices) around licenced premises, with information clearly visible to the public. Premises who do not display the correct signage may be fined over $900 (liquor licence breaches)
Clubs can view the information and download the updated signage here.

Vic Kids Eat Well - Join the Movement!!
Vic Kids Eat Well offers participant community organisations great prizes and rewards, along with access to a network of amazing health promotion professionals. Parents and community members across Victoria will be proud to see their kids’ school, sports club and community centre involved.
The following steps explain how Vic Kids Eat Well works:
Step 1: Community organisations join the movement and are connected to a dedicated health promotion professional who will support them every step of the way.
Step 2: Organisations choose a small step, like kicking confectionary, or decide to make a bigger change, like changing up the menu and letting healthy food take the spotlight.
Step 3: Progress is rewarded and celebrated. Vic Kids Eat Well is all about acknowledging milestones along the way – whether it’s skipping the deep fryer, or a overhauling the drinks fridge and saying goodbye to sugary drinks for good!
Step 4: Organisations keep the momentum going and work through all the Vic Kids Eat Well actions. Next, they can continue their healthy eating journey through relevant healthy eating policies and guidelines with the support of Nutrition Australia’s Healthy Eating Advisory Service, and receive Victorian Government recognition through Cancer Council Victoria’s Achievement Program.
