There are some exciting changes happening here at Valley Sport - we’re transitioning to a new shire-based model, where our project officers will be dedicated to supporting specific shires across the region. This shift will help us connect more closely with local communities and tailor our support where it's needed most.

Level 1 Sports Trainer Course on Sunday 6 April in Wandong! 🏉

Sports Medicine Australia’s (SMA) Level 1 Sports Trainer course is designed to introduce participants to the basic knowledge and skills required by a Sports Trainer. These skills include the management of specific sporting injuries, sports taping and transporting an injured athlete. This course educates prospective Sports Trainers, teachers, coaches, administrators and parents on the basic principles of sports medicine.

📅 Date: Sunday 6th April 2025
⏰ Time: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
📍 Location: 12 Dry Creek Rd, Wandong
💰 Cost: $299

This course equips you with the practical skills and knowledge needed to keep athletes safe, manage injuries, and respond to emergencies on the field.

GV Harmony Cup 2025! 🏏

What an incredible day at Deakin Reserve last week as 8 amazing teams from across the Goulburn Valley came together for the GV Harmony Cup! The sun was shining, spirits were high, and the cricket skills were on full display in a round-robin style tournament celebrating inclusivity and community. 💙

Congratulations to our winners:

A huge shoutout to all players for their sportsmanship, effort and energy – you made the day unforgettable!

Big thanks to our organisers: Shepparton / Youth Club United Cricket Club, @cricketvictoria, and Seda Shepparton – plus the many supporters who make this event happen every year.

Inclusive Sport in Wallan – Come & Try Sessions 
🏀⚽👟

Last Monday, we had an incredible time supporting the Wheelchair Basketball Come & Try session in Wallan, hosted by Nexus Primary Health!

It was fantastic to see the energy and enthusiasm on the court, especially from the awesome crew at ABC Disability Group, who jumped right into the action. The vibe was full of smiles, teamwork, and fun – and we’re already excited for next week’s inclusive soccer session!

A huge shoutout to Wallan Police (Eyewatch – Mitchell Police Service Area) for jumping in and getting involved too. Seeing community partners come together to promote inclusive sport is what it's all about.

👟 These sessions are free, inclusive, and open to all abilities, with a variety of sports on offer each Monday through to April 14. There's something for everyone!

🗓 When: Mondays – Under 18s: 1:00–2:00pm | Over 18s: 2:00–3:00pm
