Flood Recovery WebsiteOur thoughts go out to everyone across the region who has been or will be impacted by flooding. The images we see both from individuals and sporting clubs are devastating, but seeing strangers come together to help their community is heart-warming. We particularly love seeing sporting clubs calling for and organising volunteers to help with prevention and recovery efforts.Regional Sport Victoria has developed a website resource to keep clubs updated with flood recovery information relating to sporting clubs, including grants. As further information comes to light, this page will be updated accordingly, so keep an eye on our updates and this webpage to ensure you are across everything available to assist your club. Get Active Kids Voucher ProgramBecome a Get Active Kids Voucher Activity Provider Today!You can register NOW to become a Get Active Kids Activity Provider and help kids get involved in sport and active recreation.By registering with the Program, you will be able to accept vouchers of up to $200 to support families facing financial barriers to pay for sporting memberships and participation costs.The Program is a great way to attract more participants and to support existing members facing financial barriers to participation.To be eligible under the Program you must meet the following criteria:
Be an incorporated entity registered with the appropriate regulator.
Possess an active Australian Business Number (ABN).
Be affiliated to a Sport and Recreation Victoria recognised Victorian State Sporting Association (SSA) or Victorian State Sport and Active Recreation Body (SSARB).

On The Front Foot
Does your club have members struggling with ill mental health. Do you hold concerns for a teammate, coach or volunteer, but don't how you can best support them? Your club should consider hosting a free On The Front Foot Workshop. On the Front Foot is designed to educate members of local community sports clubs on how they can identify and support not only themselves but other club members that may be dealing with ill mental health. Grant Writing Workshop
July 2022 Valley Sport host an online grant writing workshop for sporting clubs.
The aim of the workshop was for participants to develop a better understanding of the grant writing process and how they can write successful grants.

Strategic Planning Workshop
Earlier this year Valley Sport hosted an online strategic planning workshop for clubs.
Club representatives from across the region attended the session to learn the importance of having a strategic plan and how it can help their club, as well as the basis of developing their own strategic plan.

Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant ProgramThe Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant Program helps Victorian sport and active recreation community organisations replace Essential Sports Equipment that has been lost or destroyed as a consequence of unpreventable and exceptional events such as fire, flood, significant storms, theft or criminal damage.
Grants of up to $2,000 (excluding GST) are available towards the replacement cost of the lost or damaged equipment that is owned by the applicant organisation.

Community Sport Emergency Flood Assistance Program The Community Sport Emergency Flood Assistance program provides provides a $5000 payment for flood affected clubs. The application process has been designed to make it as simple a possible to apply for, and requires minimal information from flood effected clubs. Payments will be made to clubs within 10 business days of their application.Funds can be used for the following:
Playing equipment e.g. bats, match balls, equestrian jumps, racquets, gymnastic mats, gloves and badminton nets
Injury prevention equipment e.g. goal post padding, batting pads, gloves, goalie gear, helmets, catcher’s gear
First-aid equipment e.g. defibrillator, stretchers, first aid supplies, kits and signage
Non-participation equipment e.g. public address systems, trophies, wicket covers, IT equipment, alarm systems, scoreboards
Canteen or clubroom items e.g. lockers, shelving, furniture, microwaves, food and drinks, cooking utensils, carpet, and whitegoods
Maintenance equipment e.g. lawn mowers, rollers, line markers, hose, compressors, cleaning equipment

Flood Waste DisposalThe Victorian Government is helping flood affected communities clean up and recover by removing charges to dispose of flood waste: Waste may include:
green waste
hazardous materials
whitegoods
electrical waste
furnishings.

AFL Community Relief FundAFL Victoria recently announced that Community football clubs affected by the floods in Victoria can access initial immediate assistance grants of up to $5,000 through the AFL's 'Community Relief Fund', to help deal with emergency support. AFL Victoria is in the process of making contact with all impacted clubs and is encouraging clubs to make contact through AFL regional offices. Bowls Disaster Relief Fund The Bowls Disaster Relief Fund will aim to assist clubs who have been affected by natural disasters (fire ,floods etc.) The Funding provided support in following areas:
Restoring Community Facilities
Replenishing Loss of Equipment
Restoring Social Networks and Functioning

Get Active Kids Voucher ProgramThe Get Active Kids Voucher Program provides a voucher valued up to $200 for each child for costs associated with participation in organised sport and active recreation activities. Eligible costs include membership and registration fees associated with participation.
To be eligible for a voucher your child/dependant must be:
aged 0 to 18 years
a resident in Victoria
named on a current (at the time of your application) Australian Government Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, and
named on a valid Australian Government Medicare card
