On The Front Foot
Does your club have members struggling with ill mental health. Do you hold concerns for a teammate, coach or volunteer, but don't how you can best support them? Your club should consider hosting a free On The Front Foot Workshop. On the Front Foot is designed to educate members of local community sports clubs on how they can identify and support not only themselves but other club members that may be dealing with ill mental health. If you have any questions or would like to express interest in hosting a FREE workshop at your sporting club please contact [email protected]

Grant Writing Workshop
July 2022 Valley Sport host an online grant writing workshop for sporting clubs.
The aim of the workshop was for participants to develop a better understanding of the grant writing process and how they can write successful grants.

Strategic Planning Workshop
Earlier this year Valley Sport hosted an online strategic planning workshop for clubs.
Club representatives from across the region attended the session to learn the importance of having a strategic plan and how it can help their club, as well as the basis of developing their own strategic plan.

New Victorian Child Safe Standards
New Child Safe Standards have commenced in Victoria as of July 1. All sporting organisations that provide and operate services to children are legally required to comply with these standards.
The 11 standards are:
Organisations establish a culturally safe environment in which the diverse and unique identities and experiences of Aboriginal children and young people are respected and valued.
Child safety and wellbeing is embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture.
Children and young people are empowered about their rights, participate in decisions affecting them and are taken seriously.............

Get Active Kids Voucher ProgramBecome a Get Active Kids Voucher Activity Provider Today!You can register NOW to become a Get Active Kids Activity Provider and help kids get involved in sport and active recreation.By registering with the Program, you will be able to accept vouchers of up to $200 to support families facing financial barriers to pay for sporting memberships and participation costs.The Program is a great way to attract more participants and to support existing members facing financial barriers to participation.To be eligible under the Program you must meet the following criteria:
Be an incorporated entity registered with the appropriate regulator.
Possess an active Australian Business Number (ABN).
Be affiliated to a Sport and Recreation Victoria recognised Victorian State Sporting Association (SSA) or Victorian State Sport and Active Recreation Body (SSARB).

The sun was shining, and excitement was high as 200+ players, coaches and spectators flocked to the Mooroopna Recreation Reserve Wednesday September 7 for the All-Abilities Mooroopna Football Netball Carnival.Returning after years of cancellations, the teams and players were itching to get back into the action. A great display of skills, teamwork and sportsmanship was showcased throughout the day with players already eager for the 2023 carnival.A huge thank you to Netball Victoria and AFL Goulburn Murray for assisting on the day. Goulburn Valley Grammar School students for umpiring the games. Goulburn Valley Water for keeping the players hydrated. Lions Club Mooroopna and Cup-a-Jo for providing the crowd food and coffee during the lunch break. Finally, the Mooroopna Football Netball Club for the use of their facilities.




Get Active Kids Voucher ProgramThe Get Active Kids Voucher Program provides a voucher valued up to $200 for each child for costs associated with participation in organised sport and active recreation activities. Eligible costs include membership and registration fees associated with participation.
To be eligible for a voucher your child/dependant must be:
aged 0 to 18 years
a resident in Victoria
named on a current (at the time of your application) Australian Government Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, and
named on a valid Australian Government Medicare card

Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant ProgramThe Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant Program helps Victorian sport and active recreation community organisations replace Essential Sports Equipment that has been lost or destroyed as a consequence of unpreventable and exceptional events such as fire, flood, significant storms, theft or criminal damage.
Grants of up to $2,000 (excluding GST) are available towards the replacement cost of the lost or damaged equipment that is owned by the applicant organisation.

The Active Kids Grants through the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF), aims to assist clubs and organisations to support and encourage young Australians, to improve their physical and mental health by increasing their participation in sport.
The grant program focuses on volunteer run grassroots and community clubs with young members aged under 20.
Up to $2,500 GST inclusive (equipment only)
Up to $5,000 GST inclusive (equipment only)
Up to $10,000 GST inclusive (equipment only)
Up to $10,000 GST inclusive (uniform only*)
Up to $10,000 GST inclusive (can be equipment and/or uniform*)

The Grassroots Cricket Fund (GCF) has been established by Australia’s professional cricketers to strengthen grassroots cricket for generations to come. The GCF ensures the cricket community throughout Australia gets the investment it needs to support those who help drive grassroots cricket and bring communities together.The GCF Grant Program has two funding streams available this season.
Community Impact Grant - Up to $2000
Running the Game Grant - Up to $5,000
